They're Beetles, which as I'm sure Immit8 will be along to remind us is absolutely the best car of evAr. Obviously, being Beetles and whatnot, they are custom.
Oh wait. I meant "shite".
My particular favourites are the pale blue vaguely Down's looking effort, and the transformers one which made me let out a little lol.
I'd like a number 72 please Fluff. _________________

Be fair, the top on the bewinged yellow roadster is fits better than many home brewed cabrios I've seen in the UK.
Looks like Bugs attract utter tools the World over.
May I have 53 please? |

I can be prety forgiving when it comes to cutomized Beetles, after all I used to own one. (pretty much stock though).
But these are horrible, every single one of them. But then again it's not like it's a rare car, certainly not in South America _________________ ~Life is like a box of chocolates, just when you´re enjoying it, you choke on it. |

Looking at the second red one I was thinking "not too bad" and then nearly choked on my tea when I saw the rear. _________________

Good grief. I... no, I have nothing to add.
Question though; why Herbie-up a beetle then try and make it look... not like a Beetle? _________________ What do I drive then?

Why buy a body kit when you can just go to the scrappy and hacksaw the front and back off a completely different car and glue them on... So absolutely shite, every single one. _________________

Look how tiny those exhausts are!
Surely exhausts that small can't be good for the engine, the back-pressure would just build up to rather unhealthy levels. _________________

I imagine the Peruvian dubbers are even now convening a kangaroo auto-da-fe and preparing the bonfires to receive the heretics.
I however fucking hate Beetles and so am really enjoying this thread! |

The roofchop soft tops make me chuckle everytime I read this thread just for the attempt to look cool in a canvas hunchback.
I bet the inevitable A4 window adverts will read something like
For Sale: An eye catching car, everybody points when I drive down the street.
Trouble is, your car is so gopping that, even in a wheezy old beetle you will be out of earshot before they have stopped laughing enough to shout "What a Wanker" loud enough for you to hear. |

There's some ugly crap in there isn't there. I like the way the sky blue one wants to look something like a 50's French car, perhaps a 1957 Citroen DS19 crossed with a Citroen Dyane but forcefed lard for 20 years. Some truly remarkable creations in there. _________________

What the fuck is going on with the rear camber on most of them?
Or is that normal for Adolf's shitboxes?
The front headlights on the second car look suspiciously like units from the Citroen DS, and if so, surely are worth more than the car they are bollocked onto?
I'm still amazed any of these fuckers think that their efforts are not only worthwhile, but actually justified.
Perhaps the UN ought to airdrop a few thousand crates of viagra into the province to divert their attention, at least they'll be too busy fucking each other to fuck up their cars. |

| They normally only look that knock kneed after you've jacked them up. With the weight of tat holding them down their wheels should be tucked up into the wings. I can only assume that they are set up like this from the factory as some form of population control. |

I find the rear camber on Beetles serves to perfectly emphasise their general road-non-worthiness. Indeed, the only ride I can recall taking in one of these fascist death-traps ended halfway up a dry stone wall in Saddleworth.
I was not driving, and resolved that if the opportunity ever arose I would as soon carve my own testicles into the shape of the Sydney Opera House than demean myself by attempting to persuade on of these arcane, rattly upturned bathtubs to proceed without incident.
I'm confident that this post sets out my general viewpoint on what the British motor industry was happy to describe thus:
| According to Wikipedia, the British motor industry allegedly wrote: | | the vehicle does not meet the fundamental technical requirement of a motor-car... |
Whether true or apocryphal, that gets an amen from me. Major Hirst should have weighed the fucking lot in, my view. _________________ What do I drive then?

The cry which goes out from many is that they can be made to handle. The fact that if you throw sufficient resources and time at a skip you could make it lap the Ring in under eight minutes seems to be lost on them.
The trailing arm set up in the later air cooled cars was much better but so what? Still a sodding Beetle, innit? |
